Well 2014 is finally here and the Pirates are all fired up and ready to conquer more ears! Their recent NYE gig at The Horse & Hound went swimmingly and was such a great way to end a successful year. The night was recorded and we’ll hopefully have some live mp3’s of some of the songs performed on the night, including many of our newest material.

2013 saw the band play in various venues in Jersey throughout the year, a brand spanking new drummer who saved the day to the run up of the Summer, and festivals that with any luck they’ll be booked again for this year. Halloween parties, Christmas parties, and NYE parties, you’ve all been there in great attendance and for that we’re grateful.

It has also been a great year for writing new material, and the Pirates have been knocking out songs left right and center. Live performance is massively important to them, and if it weren’t for you guys they wouldn’t know if what they were doing was right. We’re thankful for the loving and honest feedback we get from you.

Last year also saw the introduction of having some support bands for our nights, their currently isn’t a wide variety of venues to perform at in Jersey and we felt it was important to get some of the new and upcoming talent in Jersey a chance to play, as well as form new friendships. Semu Cà, Tadhg Daly & The Five Mile Road, Twelve Ton Trouble and many others have been a pleasure to perform alongside with and we wish them all the best for 2014. We hope to have them at some of our gigs again this year, as well as some newer bands on the circuit that we’ve already spoken with about future gigs.

Right now is always a quiet time for the Pirates, and they’ll be tucking themselves away in their bunker until early April to write more material and fine tune existing songs. They’ve still got their Morning After video to finish, which WILL be finished this year!!… (hopefully). There’s more festivals on the horizon, more themed parties, and they’re already booked for 15 performances at venues in Jersey. Here’s to 2014, the band hope you all have a great one, and thank you.
