VICTORIA KLEWIN & THE TRUETONES are a 6-piece band from Bristol, bridging the gap between old and new with effortless sophistication and style.  Playing a heady blend of vocally-driven soul, jazz and blues with both sparkling originals and occasional restyled classics, this authentic 6 piece are winning hearts wherever they go…bringing back a slice of the golden age.

The band officially formed in 2008, although some members have been playing together since their teens. Victoria’s soaring and improvisatory style is disarmingly pure, but with a growl and bite that catches you off-guard if you’re not careful; this is one of the most passionate and intense voices you’re likely to hear in the flesh.

Highlights include appearances at Glastonbury Festival, Bath International Festival, Marlborough Jazz Festival, Colston Hall and a live session for Jazz FM from the distinguished Boisdale of Canary Wharf (patroned by Jools Holland).

Paul Crawford’s impressive guitar-work manages to be both subtle and technically compelling. Mark James slaps and walks on the band’s now trademark pink double bass, forming the rhythmic power-house with drummer Esteban Olmos, who always holds the groove down tight! Dave McKeown’s sax and clarinet parts are the icing on the cake, adding another layer to the TrueTones sound. The vocal may be the centrepiece, but these guys play as one and their collective love of the music is utterly infectious.
